Your child should have the following skills after completing our program:

Social and Emotional
  • Play cooperatively with other children
  • Listen attentively to a book being read aloud
  • Follow rules of simple games
  • Follow multi-step directions

  • Identify letters and their sounds
  • Give the beginning sound heard in a spoken word
  • Name the letters and give the sounds of the letters in his or her first name
  • Write first name (even though mistakes may be present)
  • Recite familiar nursery rhymes from memory
  • Answer questions about what is happening in a book
  • Cut straight lines with scissors

  • Rote-count from 1-20
  • Count up to 10 objects correctly
  • Identify numerals 1-10
  • Identify shapes
  • Identify whether objects are the same or different
  • Compare the size of objects (using words like “large/small”).
  • Compare groups of objects (using words like “more/less”).

Science/General knowledge
  • Identify colors
  • Recognize and name parts of the body
  • Identify and explain the five senses
